Join designer and IGNITE Worldwide board member Cheryl Platz for an update on her ixd11 talk "Computer Engineer Barbie: How Interaction Design can entice a new generation of women" and a discussion with Jenny Lam, Co-Founder of Jacksonfish.com about women in design, in technology, and in the startup world.

CHERYL PLATZ @MUPPETAPHRODITE
Cheryl Platz has been a User Experience Designer at Microsoft for over 3 years, working on advanced user interfaces for information technology professionals. She is also a veteran of the interactive entertainment and video game industries – past employers include MAYA Design, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Electronic Arts/Maxis, and Griptonite Games. Cheryl serves as the Marketing Director for IGNITE Worldwide, a local educational nonprofit organization devoted to exposing young girls to careers in science and technology. JENNY LAM @HELVETICAGIRL
Before striking out on her own with Jackson Fish Market, Jenny was Creative Director of the Windows User Experience team at Microsoft from 2001 - 2007. Jenny also teaches and serves on the advisory board for Portfolio Center School for Design in Atlanta, serves as a board member of AIGA Seattle, and works on national & local organizations to foster the next generation of creative design talent headed for the tech industry. She was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Technology by the Puget Sound Business Journal and was awarded Seattle 2.0 Best Startup Designer in 2010.
