This event will fill up FAST, so sign in now and RSVP to secure a spot!

Your Panelists:

Aeolab: Nikita Pashenkov and Elise Co

Aeolab is a design & technology consultancy specializing in electronics prototyping, interactive media and reactive spaces. Elise Co is a multimedia designer and programmer. She is a former Professor of New Media at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel, Switzerland, where she taught courses in interaction design and physical computing. Nikita Pashenkov's work investigates the intersection between design, programming and electronics technology and has been featured in exhibitions at MoMA (New York), Institute of Contemporary Art (London), Eyebeam Atelier (New York), and Ginza Gallery (Tokyo).

Electroland: Cameron McNall and Damon Seely

Electroland is a team that creates objects, interactive experiences and large-scale public art projects. Damon Seely has broad experience realizing projects in design, media and the arts. He has fulfilled various roles as an art director, interaction designer, technical director and project manager for design and media-arts projects. Cameron McNall is an Architect and Artist. The scope of his work is wide and encompasses architecture, sculpture, film, sound, multi-media and installation art. He taught for twelve years as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Design / Media Arts at UCLA.

Eddo Stern

Eddo Stern works on the disputed borderlands between fantasy and reality, exploring the uneasy and otherwise unconscious connections between physical existence and electronic simulation. His work explores new modes of narrative and documentary, experimental computer game design, fantasies of technology and history, and cross-cultural representation in computer games, film, and online media. He works in various media including computer software, hardware and game design, kinetic sculpture, performance, and film and video production. His short machinima films include "Sheik Attack", "Vietnam Romance", "Landlord Vigilante" and "Deathstar". He is currently developing the new sensory deprivation game "Darkgame".

Michael Kontopoulos

Michael Kontopoulos is an artist and designer, interested in constructing mechanical systems and tools for exploring the poetics of everyday human behavior. Through invention, experimentation and iteration, his systems evoke metaphors about social relationships and the human condition, reflecting on habits both conscious and unconscious. Born in Philadelphia, Michael has lived and worked in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles and has exhibited his work at various galleries, festivals and alternative spaces around the US, Asia and Europe.

That was a fascinating presentation last night.  Thank you so much for the inspiration.  Great job!!

15 Oct 2010 - 6:42pm

Thanks a lot for bringing these people together to show their innovative thinking. I like that you allowed time to network before the presentations.

I especially liked the questions that you posed at the end regarding practical business considerations such as estimating costs and schedule, as well as managing them to stay in business. I help companies with principles and practices for managing projects, so I know how important these factors are.
