We are currently looking for a qualified User Experience Architect to join our Development Team at our office located in South San Francisco, CA.
This position is responsible for the overall user interface and usability for the CA product line.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop major UCD strategy for Business Unit and serve as team lead to apply proven UCD methods and solutions to plan, lead and deliver UCD projects for multiple products or product families
• Ensure all UCD deliverables meet and/or add to UI standards, UCD established practices and guidelines, as well as user and business requirements
• Independently create and coordinate implementation of successful large-scale corporate UCD programs including UI standards, compliance testing methodologies, program management, and maintaining parity with UI or assistive technologies and governmental and industry regulations
• Effectively manage and/or mentor junior UCD team members UI design tools and skills, business attitudes and behaviors and grows future leaders
• Evaluate organizational processes and provide recommendations for improvements that will foster higher quality and organizational efficiency
• Research, develop, and communicate a long-term, innovative UI direction based on a thorough knowledge of technology changes and completive products
• Perform research in the tools and technology that can be used to innovative UI Designs
• Provide continual catalyst for innovation for UCD and for CA
Key Requiements:
• Master's Degree or global equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Industrial Design , Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or related HCI discipline is preferred
• Typically possesses a portfolio demonstrating 7 or more years of experience designing and testing excellent enterprise software user interfaces.
• Business travel of approximately 10 or less percent yearly is expected for this position.
Skills:
• Must be a recognized expert in the HCI industry, by having several refereed publications or conference papers, or sits or has sat on HCI industry-wide committees or organizations.
• May have domain specific expertise (e.g., accessibility, ethnography), but must be recognized as an industry expert in that domain and be able to demonstrate the value of the domain to CA.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication, presentation, project management, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to communicate the UCD process and requirements to both technical and non-technical colleagues as well as senior executives.
• Is a recognized expert in the HCI industry, by having several refereed publications or conference papers, or sits on HCI industry-wide committees or organizations.
• Ability to build trusting and cooperative relationships with groups across CA is a must.
• Expertise in, and repeatedly demonstrated ability to effectively teach and produce excellent UI design, usability engineering, and information architecture deliverables.
• Expertise with Thick and Thin- Client enterprise software, as well as underlying UI technologies and have the ability to coach junior staff on the skill development in all UI technology areas.
• Expertise with graphic or prototyping tools and the ability to train others.
