Tangible UX, a boutique user experience design consulting firm is looking for an Interaction Design Intern to join our small team. In this position you are expected to foster and support a collaborative, innovative culture, and will work closely with visual designers, design researchers, web developers, and the principals of the company, Erin Malone, James Young and Bruce Charonnat.



-      You have a good understanding of user centered design principles and a basic practical knowledge of applying these principles to the design process. You understand the collaboration process between the UX design disciplines (visual design, interaction design, design research and web development) during the product design and development process.

 -      You will be accountable for delivering wireframes and interaction prototypes for design review, testing and iteration.

-      You will be able to explore various alternative ideas with guidance on appropriate solutions from a senior designer or company principal.

-      You may play a support role to one or more designers.

-      You ensure the quality of your deliverables through submission for testing and proactively requesting design reviews. You will seek out the assistance of other interaction designers on a project or the company principals to ensure interaction specifications are appropriate for the context of use.

-      Ability to rapidly prototype your design solutions a plus



-      You have a basic technical knowledge of HCI and user centered design practice with current graduate studies preferably in Interaction Design, Industrial Design with an Interaction Design emphasis, Graphic Design, Library Science, HCI, or other Computer Related Design programs.

-      You should be familiar with user interface design principles, building web pages, HTML, page layout and basic web navigation models. Ability to code a plus but not required.

-      You must be able to work well under direction with good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

-      Previous Internships in relevant industries a plus

-      Familiarity with field and lab-based usability research methodologies a plus

-      Ability to work independently and collaboratively

-      Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus

-      Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
