Seeking instructor for course in User Experience / Information Architecture

Dept: WEB Design and Interactive Media, Bachelor degree program

Summer 2010 Quarter; 1 evening per week

Experienced and knowledgeable of

-       User-centered design,  user experience, and information architecture

-       Creation and maintenance of user experience documentation such as competitive site analyses, user personas, site maps, detailed navigation flow, wireframes, prototyping, and usability testing standards.

-       The design of visually rich, user-friendly interfaces that scale across multiple product lines and applications and adhere to current conventions.

-       Web standards, user-centered design principles and content strategizing.

-       User research and usability reports.

-       Designing dynamic interfaces that allow users to easily manage large and complex amounts of data.

-       Developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience and associated UI framework aligned with brand, marketing, and business objectives.

-       UX project Management, including: all aspect of projects, including scheduling, tracking UI/Usability issues, making design recommendations, user research and usability testing, guidelines, standards, user-centered design processes, documentation,  best practices standards, product development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

-        BA/BS in E-Commerce/ WEB, Human Computer Interaction, Usability, Human Factors, Psychology, User Interface Design, Computer Science or related field. Master’s degree highly preferred.

-        4+ years of experience working in interaction design, UI design, information architecture and/or usability.

-       Expert proficiency with design and prototyping tools: specifically, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office

-       Prior experience producing designs that scale across multiple platforms.

-       Thorough understanding of uses of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Flash and web 2.0 technologies in User Experience design processes.

-       Contact with others in the Los Angeles UX community in order to provide field trip, mentoring and guest lecturer access to students.

-       Outstanding presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

-       Some professional or college level teaching experience preferred.
