Analytics Practice Lead

iQ Content are looking to hire a smart, motivated person to take the lead role in our web analytics practice. Our analytics consultants help clients set up the technical infrastructure and business processes to get actionable intelligence from web traffic. They also provide a vital service to our user experience design teams in conducting project research.

About the role

This role requires expert knowledge of web analytics combined with the capability to build and lead a team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear ability to think commercially and to drive the definition and refinement iQ Content's web analytics services. This role requires expertise in:

• Analysing a client's web properties in order to formulate a web analytics strategy.
• Statistical analysis, enabling you to make sound inferences from large and noisy data sets.
• One or more web analytics packages, especially Google Analytics or Omniture. Professional certifications in these packages is considered an advantage.
• A/B testing of web designs.
• Web technologies, web design and user experience design.

This role also requires a person comfortable working alongside a team of content strategists, designers and developers as well as engaging with senior business people on their own terms.

As this is a team management role, you also need to be capable of:

• Recruiting new members of your team.
• Mentoring team members, reviewing their career progress and planning their professional development.
• Setting business goals for the company's web analytics service, meeting these goals, and reporting to the board of directors on your progress.
• Defining and refining the company's web analytics services, and collaborating to integrate these with our other services.

Practice Leads are also expected to become active contributors to the company blog and to our participation in conferences and other industry events.

Required Skills and Experience

We are looking for a person with at least 5 years experience in web analytics or a related discipline, who can demonstrate a clear potential to develop the Analytics team within iQ Content. You may have a background in business analysis, business intelligence or online marketing with extensive knowledge of the web. You can confidently demonstrate the following personal characteristics:

• Analytical thinking. You must be able to analyse complex situations and problems and gain useful insights into the issues involved.
• Creativity. You must be able to work within constraints to deliver new and clever solutions to problems.
• Excellent communication skills. You need to be able to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively in writing and in person. Data visualisation skills would be a distinct advantage.
• The ability to get things done. You get things done in the face of tight deadlines and on your own initiative.
• Passion for learning and teaching: You realise you don't know it all, and are willing to learn from others and teach what you know.
