Usability testing a build and supplementing it with paper mocks

I'm currently in the process of usability testing a build. The build
consists of a lot of functionality but some of those parts are not
connected to the main navigation. People can still access the
functionality but not from the correct places.

I'm considering providing the user tasks to complete and filling in
the missing flow pieces with paper mocks.

Board Positions

As a current board member and our treasurer I want to encourage everyone
to consider joining the board, especially colleagues from outside the
US. Board membership is a great experience.

With the help of this growing community we are trying to build a home
for the development of the discipline and a place for each of us to
grow, network and learn.

Making Life Easy (and the Red Balloons)

Hi folks,

I want to tell you about a project for World Usability Day called *Making
Life Easy*. And I'm hoping that you will stop by and let us know your
thoughts about good and bad design!

*What is it?*

Between now and World Usability Day (14th Nov), we'll be out on the streets
of London tying red balloons to examples of good and bad user experiences.

Event Report :: The Future of Digital Product Design

Dirk Knemeyer is an excellent speaker with a flare for the dramatic and put
together a great presentation on "The Future of Digital Product Design."
Showing a very interesting diagram that illustrated all of the forces at
work in product design--marketing/engineering, the business vision/the
product's functionality and its enabling technology/people and their
experience of a product--Dirk discussed the anatomy of product design. His
talk then touched on the evolution of digital products--including digital
convergence and next-gen digital products.

Messaging Patterns

Hey all,

I'm attempting to determine industry standards for website communication but am having a hard time finding any formal documentation.

What constitutes a "warning" and an "alert"? Is a warning a subset of an alert? How about a reminder, is it a type of warning?
