Serial comma in UIs?

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering whethere there is an established convention about using serial commas in lists of items in UI text strings. To be more specific, I'm working on Android.

This is a serial comma (the comma preceding "and"): "Portugal, Spain, and France"

Login/register during checkout

There are a number of models for login/register during checkout. Some sites insist that you do one or the other. Some have an additional 'continue without doing either' option. Some signpost the 'do nothing' option as 'register later' , and provide the capability to do so.

I'd be interested to hear of practical examples as to the relative merits of the various models, and what the issues are. Has anyone implemented this type of process into an existing checkout process?

Advice: Charting

 

Hello Folks,

I have a charting question and would love some guidance and thoughts on this problem.  

I'm looking for a good way to allow users to select aggregate numbers for all datapoints, but also allow the granularity of looking at one at a time or comparing them to each other. See: http://bit.ly/yQf28o , also attached.

print style sheet for digital report printout version -- Is it the right approach?

I'm currently design a web app for users to design and develop scenarios and chemical programs for their geothermal systems, but at the end of the day they need to communicate this to the customer through a printed report. The report is also generated in the web tool, which could potentially be a 10-page report with different data (some of them are displayed in a really long table and some of them are visual graph). User can customize the report by selecting the contents they want (like a dashboard).

Looking for an app to share and test Android App mockups

I'm working on an Android app. We have some flat mocks but I want to get them onto some Android devices to see how they feel and test out flows, labels and copy with people.

In the past on iphone I've used Prototypes by Duncan Wilcox. It worked pretty well for us. I could upload pngs then add hotspots and basic tranisitions. Once I was happy I uploaded the prototype to Prototypes server, got a key and entered that into the app on my iphone. Hey presto a tappable prototype on my iphone.

Anybody successfully incorporated interactive whiteboards into their design process?

Our team is revamping the design room. Our current process is to sketch on whiteboards or butcher paper and photograph, then email the results. When we can borrow a Panaboard (same thing, but captures images to a USB stick) we use that.We'd also like to collaborate with others remotely.
