Work in groups or as individuals in your IxD work

I know that everything we do is collaborative in that we have to work with
biz & tech and often other roles of design like visual, copy, research, etc.

But my question is how often do you find yourself collaborating on group
work in your specific role as an IxD or UX designers?

I ask this question b/c when I look back on my work career there were very
few moments when I did work in a group.

IxDA Global Student Interaction Design Competition: Submissions Open

Submissions are now open for the IxDA Global Student Interaction Design
Competition. Submissions are due by November 30th, 23:59, US/PST.

This competition is the first of its kind. IxDA will bring 5 finalists to
Interaction 10 | Savannah, the 3rd Annual International Conference co-hosted
by the Savannah College of Art & Design where they will compete head to head
to find a winner. All finalists will be given a full scholarship for
attending the conference.

Unlike other design competitions where the goal is to find the best design,
this competition is looking for the best designer.

MS in Interaction Design, Usability, User Research, User Experience, Information Architect

I'm studying HCI at DePaul University. Here is the link -

You will need the GRE and TOEFL.
GRE is required for most graduate programs in the U.S.

User Recruitment Agencies: Delhi/Maharashtra/Kerala

Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody knew reliable quality agencies which would
help recruit people for inquiry in villages in the following states
(India):

1. Delhi/UP/Haryana
2. Maharashtra
3. Kerala

If you have had some experience with an agency before, or know that a
particular agency is good, please do let me know. The requirement is a
little urgent!

Design, Usability, and related fields? In this meeting, we'll sort through
our choices for education in User Experience fields -- ranging from free to
thousands of dollars -- from seminars to conferences to college degrees.
We'll focus on education here in Colorado, but also discuss out-of-state
options.

Interaction Design or HCI higher studies

Hello,

I intend to pursue a Masters Degree in Interaction Design or HCI from
US or Canada (MDes or MS).

I am about to finish my Graduate studies in Computer Science (MS in
CS) with a GPA of 3.1 (including one really low grade). I have some
pretty strong project work that can cover-up the GPA deficiency to
some extent. Also I have taken courses like Virtual Reality and User
Interface Design.

Given this background, is it wise to even try for higher studies in
interaction design or HCI?

Mini Design Challenge Suggestions

Hi,

Does anyone have suggestions of topics for quick (~10 minutes) design
challenge scenarios?

The University of Michigan SOCHI (Student Org. in Computer Human
Interaction) is hosting an event to practice our rapid sketching and
ideation skills, particularly in preparation for upcoming job
interviews that many of us have. We've done sketching scenarios like
this in the past and would love some fresh ideas.

Are there any scenarios that you've encountered during IXD/UX
interviews that might be good to practice with?
