Corporate culture and IxD

A couple of articles to illustrate:


Has anyone here had the same or similar experiences as Mr X?

Briefly, Dustin Curtis came up with a redesign of the American
Airlines website because of his perception of a poor customer
experience. A UX Designer from AA replied discussing the difficulties
of getting good work out of the door because of corporate culture.

I wanted to know if any of you have read "Eyetracking Web
Usability". I have looked for reviews and can't find any. So if

joined together with the Creative Coast Alliance
http://www.thecreativecoast.org to create a Design Challenge that
will have a direct impact on the creative professionals and
businesses of Savannah. The Challenge is structured to give
participants an opportunity to put interaction design principles and
methods to work, engage with the rich history of Savannah, and
address an issue that effects the lives of their local peers.

Mozilla Eduation "Jetpack for Learning" Design Challenge

Help turn the open Web into a rich learning environment and explore
new possibilities for using Firefox add-ons to support learning
online, as part of the the Jetpack for Learning Design Challenge
