What will we see? A wonderful mystery to unfold, join us!

Topic: We don't know! It's Chicago IxDA, Pecha Kucha-style!
Hosted By: Arc Worldwide

registration download flow

I'm working on a product (toolbar) for a client that requires a download.
Has anyone done any research or have anecdotal evidence regarding
registration and download order? Are folks more likely to download if they
register (one short form) first, or more likely to register if they download
first?

Thanks,
- Tori

Banks and the homepage

Studies on aversion to ATMs for making deposits?

Has anyone here heard of any studies or research that has been done to
determine why many people have an aversion to making deposits at ATMs?

Is it a fundamental distrust of handing money to a machine, or are there
deeper issues involved?

Listing on Guru.com... no categories for us?

I thought I'd list myself as a freelancer on Guru.com, and was
surprised and distressed to find that interaction design, user
experience, usability, etc. etc. aren't among the many categories
you're allowed to select. Does this just reflect some ignorance on
the part of the Guru.com folks, or are our skill sets commonly omitted
on such sites? More broadly, does this omission reflect a *general*
lack of awareness and understanding about our field?
