World Usabiity Day in Chicago: November 8th

Hi everyone, if any of you are in Chicago that week, and several of you will
be for the dux conference, then join us for World Usability Day at the
Intercontinental Hotel!

The 2007 Chicago event will focus on the user experience within health care.
We will offer presentations and other activities that focus on the usability
of all aspects of health care, including morning speakers and afternoon
collaboration tanks.

JOB: Senior Usability Officer at the American Library Association (Chicago, IL)

ALA is a client of mine (I'm helping redesign their site, under subcontract to
UserWorks), and they are committed to usability and the quality of their
interaction design. I assisted them in defining this position and am serving
on their search committee. Candidates must be in the Chicago area or willing to
relocate there.

Instructor in Interaction

The Department of Design at the University of Kansas will be launching a new
Masters in Interaction degree. The program will have a soft rollout with the
January, 2008 spring semester. Classes at both the Lawrence campus and
Edwards (KC satellite) will begin in the fall. The MA in Interaction will be
the only one of its kind in the region. Due to the projected demand we are
currently looking for additional instructors for the program. Candidates
should have background in human centered design, graphic design, business
practices.
