Close all tabs? (was Confirmation dialogs - the devil himself, or a necessary evil?)

My team is currently in the process of reining in all the various
treatments of "more..." links on our various sites. We've essentially
three cases in which they're used:

1. Expand text to be continued on the same page, e.g. "Read the rest of
this content in an expanded context".
2. Navigate to the rest of this content on a new page, e.g., "Read more
of this content in a new context"
3. Navigate to similar content on a new page, e.g., "Read more content
like this in a new context"
The link should communicate:
- What kind of content will I get?

from designer to founder

HI y'all

I've been coaxed into giving a talk about going from a designer to the
CEO/founder of a start-up at Baychi tonight, and I'm working on my
slides and boy, am I boring! If you were going to come see me tonight,
what would you like to know?

Auto populate driving directions if you have a zipcode?

First some context. We are trying to create a product catalogue with
the ability to do in-store availability check.

Auto-rotating content usability?

(Apologies for the cross-post)

Does anyone have research about the usability of content areas that
auto-rotate?

Anybody interested in an Agile UCD bestpracticesharing session in the SF Area in July?

>>
If you were at CHI earlier this year, an informal SIG on just this topic
was hosted by my colleague Desiree Sy. (Andrew, I think you were
there). I like the idea of a separate event for this.
>>

I attended the SIG at Chi and it was great. I can't attend this new one
in SF, but I do hope that participants document the session and share it
with this list.

IP question (was: Apple iTunes Flipbook Pattern)

Does anyone know what does (or doesn't) the IP cover? On a more general
note, is it possible to patent Interaction patterns?
