Hi All...

We have a question from a client regarding how a visitor should be directed
to the appropriate country "view" of a global corporate website.

Since it's a web app, one can imagine not only doing as you're
considering--having basically a footnote pane that acts like the
preview/reading pane of an RSS or Email client--but you could also
consider having onMouseOver actions that open floating windows that
contain the footnote, doing an XmlHttpRequest to get the footnote
itself.

Interaction Design and QA

I'm working as an interaction designer in an agile development
organization. We're making significant changes to the u.i. across a
broad suite of products. Part of the process is to have QA run the code
through automated tests. Some of the design is difficult to validate in
testing--the styling of a button or the behavior of tabs, for example.
Does anyone have experience in working successfully with QA in this
environment?

IA Education Survey

(apologies for cross-posting)

To gather information for the next edition of "Information Architecture
for the World Wide Web," Lou Rosenfeld and Peter Morville have been
surveying the Information Architecture community.

The newest survey "IA Education Survey, for Practitioners" is now open.

This survey consists of six to eight questions, and we estimate it will
take five to ten minutes to complete. This survey closes on August 8,
2006.

WYSIWYG WEB Management Tools

Hi,

My company maintains more than 45 websites/portals and we are in the midst
of streamlining these to 8 core portals. Our portals are fairly complex and
dynamic.

One of our biggest challenges and requirements is to lessen dependency on
HTML programmers/developpers to update our content daily. We are looking
for an easy to use tool that allows content publishing rights to our
business owners and non-technical staff.

I'd appreciate any pointers on some tried and tested tools - I have come
across WEBGUI, TYPO3 and DRUPAL.
