Collaboration tools for creative process

I have been trying to do some investigation into tools (primarily
software) that have been successfully used to help facilitate
collaboration on large creative projects. There are obviously lots of
collaboration tools for technical projects, but creative projects
seem to have gotten less attention. Has anyone else run across this
issue?

As an example, imagine a film. On it, you have a crew of hundreds of
people. Everyone tends to work in isolation, but they all depend upon
each other. Today, the process is quite manual, with some obvious
digital tools in the editing bay.

sustainable design

Here's a concrete problem that bugs the hell out of me:
- You print out an email and the second sheet of paper contains only a
signature
- Worse, you print out an email thinking the top part is important, but it
comes with 10 pages of reply quotations
- (On the other hand, what if the original quotation was exactly what you
wanted?)
- You print out a web page and the last sheet contains mostly footers and
ads

What do we need here?

Reading group for Social Network theory?

Would anybody be interested in starting a reading group in the bay area on Social Networking theory? I've been reading a lot about it lately and would like to get some discussions going to better understand it....Lately I've reading Six Degrees by Duncan J. Watts.

I was thinking about starting something in either Berkeley or SF.

Announcing: Keypad Trouble

My team has just finished a video retrospective on mobile keypad usability
that you might find useful. Note: all usability tests were conducted in
the US on US-available handsets.

This year, I have presented the material at Cambridge Wireless, the London
Usability Professionals Association, and New York's Mobile Monday. The
video presentation is now available for purchase.

Examples of web application system documentation?

Hi all,
Where could I find good examples of web application system documentation? Are there best practices and standards that I could rely upon?
We are customizing a web ordering (which we are proprietary) for a client and just delivered its system documentation (site maps, processes flows with notifications, high level interactions between web servers and databases, system structure description, and main screens descriptions – not at the object level but with emphasis on main functionalities).
