I recently applied for the Cooper Interaction Designer position and got
rejected. I've attached my solution to the Interaction Designer Test for
your critique. Please feel free to be ruthless in your analysis.

Screen Real Estate Evaluation Tools

Does anyone know of any tools available for identifying and analyzing screen
real estate for web sites? I'm looking for something similar to the screen
real estate bareak downs found in Jakob Nielsens book "Homepage Usability:
50 Websites Deconstructed". We are working toward a redesign of our
university website and would like to see what percentage of space our peers
are devoting to navigation, search, recent news, etc.

I am currently using screen caputres and Illustrator (doing the percentages
in my head). Ouch.

New to Interaction Design

Hello all,

Is there any place to download a sample of a well designed software spec? When I attended the Interaction Design course at Cooper, they didn't give us examples of what a spec should look like. I've seen people on this list talking about 40+ page specs, so I wanted to see what all goes into it to make it that comprehensive. The Resource Library at ixda.org is not functional, so I wasn't sure where else to look.

Thanks.

JOB: Junior Information Architect - New York City, NY - Recruiter (Contract)

So I know there has been some discussion on this list regarding
unrealistic job requirements at the "guru" end of the spectrum. What
are your thoughts about the same phenomenon at the "newbie" end of the
spectrum?

Fwd: [NextD_WorkshopsGroup] survey of design education programs in United States

Just wanted to make sure that IxD based programs in the US get
represented as well.
So if you represent a program here in the US, it would be great for
you to be sure you get included in this survey.
