How do you define successful experience?

Curious to your answers to this question. Is it experience where you
learned a lot? Where stakeholders were happy?

Are good IxDers like good chess players?

In my morning malaise on the subway this morning I thought this:

Some of the best interaction designers I've worked with are like good
chess players. They are the kind of people who can think 39 actions
ahead, for each of the 27 different possible use scenarios.

Google SearchScapes

We all know how Google displays search results.

But is anyone else getting tired of clicking on the numbers at the bottom of
the page?

Perhaps a "landscape" result for various keyword combos?

Something like this, only, well, arranged.

Just a thought...

Obfuscation vs Filtering (was The Winge List)

I'm surprised to find so much effort to avoid getting spammed on this
list, especially at the cost of content and usability.

I've had the same email address for 6 years, use it all over the net
and refuse to obfuscate it in any way. As a result I get 120-250 junk
mails every day.

Certified Usability Analyst

Hello all,

This is the first time I post to this list and hope its not too late to say
happy new year!

Anyway, I recently completed my Interaction Design degree and has decided my
interest lies more in usability such as doing analysis and testing. Has
anyone here completed the Usability Analyst program by Human factors
International? How are they in terms of reputation? Do their graduates
really proven to get a higher chance of getting hired after completing the
program?

Thank you.
