Re: Ivrea is having a summer camp

Hello Wendy,

I'm a first year student at IDII. I've just been through the Ivrea
experience and I can speak highly of it. So, to your first question:
A) is it any good? Definitely.

Design education

An interesting Design Council (UK) article on Michael Beirut

"Much of [design] is still down to natural ability. 'There's a dirty secret:
that
much of it is a God-given talent. As an instructor of design I come across
students that don't need help and others who can't be helped. It's an
accident
that kicks in at conception."

gender-selection input

An argument has arisen in my company over the implementation of a
registration Web page.

We are going from a drop-down selection list to radio switches for the
Male/Female gender selection.

The argument is based on Jakob Nielsen's insistence that all radio switch
groups have a default setting.

Some say that for the case of gender, there should be no default.

Others say that because there is no default gender, a drop-down selection
list is the only way to go, as the list can start with a neutral selection
(e.g.
