Online Product Selectors

[Apologies for cross-postings]

I'm looking for examples of web-based tools that help people find the right
product. I'd like to see the range of what's out there, anything from entry
of a few parameters to AI.

Icon for integrity...

Looking for a bit of creative stimulation here, if you all don't mind.

Trying to craft a Shortcut icon for a product that is designed for "document
integrity". I figured I can't use a document, because - well that would be a
document and not an application shortcut.

Any visual ideas or inspiration would be gladly appreciated - my brain is
totally drained right now!

Interaction Design, should it be a part of Product Management or Development? (Was should interaction designers produce code...)

There has been some good discussion going on about in-house vs. consultant and
now code vs.

Good news and bad news

First the good news:

Gartner: Corporate IT to Compete for Skilled Engineers

Enterprises aren't going to need more coders, but they are going to need
services of skilled engineers capable of quickly turning business
requirements into efficient applications, according to two Gartner Inc.
analysts.

At this point, pure coding skills are a commodity, and when you are shopping
for any commodity, "all things being equal, you buy it at the lowest price,"

UPA 2005 Submission deadline reminder

Dear Colleagues:

We are extending the submission deadline for presentations, panels,
advanced topics, peer-reviewed papers, workshops and tutorials to
October 22, 2004. We have also posted a list of topics suggested by
attendees of the 2004 UPA conference. There are some quite interesting
ideas out there!
