The IxDA Speaker Network is Live

I'm so excited to announce that the IxDA Speaker Network is now live and those with interest in speaking at local events are able to submit their interest.

The goal of the speaker network is to not only allow groups with more access to speakers to share opportunities with other groups, but to give everyone a chance to speak on what is passionate to them. Many may not consider themselves speakers, but have great stories to tell, and we want to hear them.

Speaker for a Usability lecture at a large corporate event?

I'm trying to identify a well known Usability expert to present to a large Technology organization in the financial sector. Looking for someone with good name recognition and respect in the software development community, but not someone who is likely to already have been seen / heard by many people. A few people have recommended Alan Cooper and Bill Buxton but I've never heard either of them speak. Do you have comments or suggestions?

Inspirational, persuasive speaker recommendations?

My organisation is giving some time to thinking about how we develop attitudes towards UCD, usability and a user experience focus within the company. While we're doing lots of stuff at "ground-level" and there  is lots of executive support, we're looking to reach out to the many developers, testers, analysts and managers involved in software development.
