MSc User Experience Kingston University

Hi,

I have been looking into the Masters in User Experience Design in Kingston University.  I was wondering does any one have any experience of it?  Good, bad or indifferent?

http://www.kingston.ac.uk/postgraduate-course/user-experience-design-msc/

I know it has recently chaged from being an MA and MSc to just being an MSc.  My background is in design and advertising and although I would like to know all apsects of the field research etc, I would not like it to be at the expense of my strengths ie. design.

Umea Industrial Design Intensive

Hi everyone.. this is a bit long:

I am very new to IxD and have been doing a lot of research lately to look for similar programs to Umea's Industrial Design Intensive. I'm about to graduate with a BS in business/economics, and have very limited design education, thus looking for some sort of grad school prep program. Also, the program doesn't require any professional experience or a portfolio for admissions.

Applying for research opportunities in HCI focussing on IxD, UX, IA and usability

Greetings! I am a (very recent) graduate in Software Engineering from Sri Lanka and I wish to peruse my higher studies (postgrads) in research based user experience design and development. Professionally I do not have any HCI, usability or UX related work or research experience. As a matter of fact, there are no academic or commercial user experience labs in Sri Lanka. And finding opportunity to gain work experience on such a field is very hard here.

Does it worth doing a 7000£ Masters to become a UX designer?

Dear IXDA,

I have been a member of a few months now, since I have decided that I would like to specialise my career towards UX design after a degree in Multimedia Tech. and Design.

I have been pondering on what makes a UX designer, how does one call oneself as a HCI specialist or UX designer, there are hardly any specialised degrees on this subject.
