Just starting a discussion if anyone can help me define an comprehensive UX or IxD organization process flow. Any input on this discussion would be gladly appreciated. Problem came about because working with other deparments while implementing UX has been not been operating smoothly. Is there any sites or other resources where I can get more information about a process flow from kickoff all the way to launch stating which departments handle certain type of deliverables and requirements but focusing more from a UX POV.
I'm doing some design research for a client who offer a Video On Demand service in the UK. Currently, the service is predominantley available in a desktop browser environment. Sensible, they are now starting to get the service on to televisions via the slew of devices able to do this (games console, internet ready TVs etc...).
I've been asked to provide a 'best practice' design guidelines document based on existing IxD models to give them a strong base to start their design work. With particular interst in:

Hi IXDA, This is my first post, and I am new in the field of UX.
Background: My profession is graphic designer, webdesigner and front-end developer for several years but I lately got alot of interest in UX-design. Not only does this help me alot in my design process but it also creates a better experience for the users, greater references for me and happy clients.
I'm currently based in the Philippines / Hong Kong and am heading back to London (I'm British) in a few weeks when I've wrapped up work here. I should be here Monday 3rd June and I'd like to attend the next IxDA meeting in London to meet you guys and network.
My questions are about London: What's the work situation like there? And who are the best people to contact?
By now, I’m sure we all must have noticed the new design that Google recently rolled out. I somehow feel that the left hand sidebar filters can be designed better. Even the transition from more search tools to fewer search tools does not seem to be very smooth. Google has been experimenting with this sidebar for many months now. I wish if there was an option to “turn off” this new sidebar. Though I really like the way more filters are given in search categories such as Images, Books etc. Especially the color and type search in images is absolutely fundu.
