Hi- I'm relatively new to the UX world. I've done some UX work in my current job (but not nearly enough - long story- I have a UX title, but haven't been given the opp to do much at all) and have landed an interview for a UX Design position in several days (mix of interaction and visual design).
You might have heard of MakeMyTrip. We’re hopeful you’re even a customer that has bought from us. Well, over 3M paying customers have bought from us! If you’re a product or a design professional, I’m sure you’ve had ideas such as “why don’t they do it this way or that way”. Well, here’s your chance to get in the door and help transform India’s leading Online Travel Company into an even more delightful experience.
I'm looking for some career advice - I'm in need of mentoring!
I'm not sure what type of role I should go for to start my career.
I recently graduated with a BSc IT (Multimedia Design). While studying I freelanced creating websites. I also developed an extensive internal web application from the ground up (using php/mysql) for a small company. This involved a lot of analysis and design work with the Director.
Fellow Designers, can we talk creative business career strategy?
Last week, a Bay Area ad agency hired me to "simplify the UI" of a project under the title Senior Interactive Designer. I expected two to three weeks of freelance work, but I didn't see day three. My conundrum concerns leadership.
I get the job and join a team that doesn't trust each other.
Recently, I came across this course at NTU, Singapore: 'Master of Arts In Interactive Design' (which borrows faculty from Domus for the workshop phase of the course). But I have no idea of the market for IxD in Singapore and am wondering whether I should take this up.
I am in the process of a career transition. I currently work in Digital Asset Management, and am enrolled in a Library/Info Science Masters program (one with some IxD, or related, offerings). I also have a visual design background. I am NOT a 20-something/right out of college.
We have an immediate need for a contract Flash Prototyper here in New York City. It will be onsite and for a minimum of 3 weeks of full-time work.
You will be building interfaces in Flash with tons of actionscript. The ability to follow direction to the letter and be quick about it. We are a fun group of senior level interaction design architects.
Pay is very competitive and no need to be a guru as long as you have a fluent understanding of the prototype process.
Email me with your portfolio of flash interfaces, firstname.lastname@example.org.
